nos or turbo on b16

Default nos or turbo on b16

i have ab16 that i have recently changed piston rings and bearings and all seals and gaskets and i am trying to decide which is safer or should i say not as harmful for the engine since it is a high compression engine nitrous or turbo.

Run them both.

It's double jeopardy, so you'll be fine. The cold from the nos evens out the heat from the turbo.

Harmful how? You can destroy an engine with either. You could use either safely, as long as you have a good tune and stay within the boundaries of what the engine can output without detonation. Nitrous is usually safer because you won't use it as much, meaning there are less opportunities to blow something up. It's also harder to tune for though, because of all of the variables in the nitrous system which aren't monitored by the ECU.
A turbo setup is more likely to damage an engine over time, but is more predictable. Any time you put out more power that stock, you are accelerating wear and tear on the engine, and you'll put putting out higher than stock power a lot more of the time with a turbo setup than with a nitrous system. However, it's easier to control a turbo setup, and easier to tune for it, so you don't really have to worry about stuff like too big of a shot of nitrous getting delivered under some weird combination of conditions.

But at the end of the day, you're going to get greedy for more power, and then you're going to blow something up.

with my motor its basically one or the other. nitrous likes high compression N/A builds much more than low compression boost builds.

umm no, i had an 11:1 compression motor and i can safely turbo it to 6 psi. Not honda
