I dropped my Lightning off at Carr's Garage, behind Taco Bell on Main street in Salem, last week and noticed a "Mechanic Needed" sign on the door. Didn't know if you were looking for dealership shop work or what.
Dealership is fine, but i like the variety that comes with a independant shop. But I'm tryin not to be picky, but i don't really want to work at jiffy lube or the like unless it is a last resort
Rex, the owner of the shop is a good guy, I've known him and his family for a few years. Seems like he has plenty of work. When I went to go talk to him about my truck he said it'd be 2 weeks before he could get to it.
Shops are closing up shop in Pulaski left and right. Actually glad Im not working in a garage right now. Dealers arent even higher in this area either. Got a management job with Oreilly's which is nice.
Hope things in your area are different. The economy def isnt helping this area at all.

I hear ya. I've noticed several shops around here have closed to. My former shop had started to pick back up, but I really think there was something on a more personal level as to why I was fired. Hoping i dont have to resort to fast food and delivery jobs until the automotive repair business picks back up.
