VW limp mode
So the other day my car went into limpmode and it won't cycle it off with the ignition.
It's a 2001 VW golf tdi with 90k miles.
Wondering if anyone with VW knowledge could give some places to start checking. I haven't had the codes read yet (my CEL is always on ) but I'm pretty sure it has at least a BOOST DEVIATION code stored..
symptoms:
loss of power after 2500rpm
NO smoke (so turbo is fine I'm assuming)
however, turbo spool is WAY less pronounced than before
Fueld mileage has not decreased (to my knowledge)
will add more as I remember.
I work alot so I won't be able to mess with this until this weekend which is why I'm kind of trying to get a "check list" going.
A few things I was going to try:
Put vaccuum on VNT actuator to make sure it still moves.
Unplug MAF, see if it runs better
Replace fuel filter
Remove intake manifold (to see if its clogged/restricted)
Replace vaccuum lines/check for leaks or a popoff.
If anyone has anymore suggestions I would GREATLY appreciate them. I really do not want to spend my entire weekend (or longer) doing this.
Thanks!

Re: VW limp mode
That actually crossed my mind last night and will probably be one of the things on the list
Yes, I know. I will get them read this weekend, but in case one isn't thrown I'm building up some ideas to check.
Yes it is diesel. And I always have a code thrown because my EGR is removed (to prevent cleaning the intake manifold), and I have a bad #2 glowplug. So...tell me what mods I've done for the karma?
