Default So I drove a couple new civics today

I almost bought one, I really like the new interior/icluster, and weight distribution. I test drove both an si and an ex, si was decent but I know my limits and it would get me in trouble, the ex however was very, very nice for what theyre going for. Would be a nice car to just drive around town, what other comparable cars should I test drive?(read:not too powerful, with reasonable power/convenience options, and not overly expensive- sub 20k)

So what you're saying is a Civic SI is beyond your driving limits? Buy a bicycle.

I don't think he meant that he couldn't handle a Civic SI and all it's power. I think he meant he'd get tickets with it.

OP: I'd look into the Mazda3, Subaru Impreza, and Subaru Legacy. The Legacy is slightly bigger, but is still a good value. You'll be able to get a new one for under $20k with some decent options. They are rated at 26mpg, but people say they get close to 30mpg on the highway.

Why would he get tickets? Are you buying a Civic to go race around town?

Because some people drive their sporty cars more spirited?

Did you ever get tickets or get in any accidents in your s2000? Would have been in the same situations if you owned a Mercury Sable?...

+1 on the mazda3, they're good cars. I'd get that over a Civic, cause after all if you're buying a new car, it's not like you'll be heavily modifying it, since you don't wanna mess up the warranty. Although the Si is a fun and comfortable car as well.
