petition for modified vehicles in VA
Hey guys/gals here is a great petition for everyone of us to sign and try to see if it will be put through. I'm not making this post for a bitch and moan session so if you want to do that find another post or create your own. Just a simple click on the link put your name and state and a comment if you choose and submit.
Here is the link there is also further info and details on the petition on Moddified Cars.

What law prohibits you from modifing your car? I searched 46.2 and didn't find anything.

I know we have a law regarding bumper heights, but nothing stating that the car must remain stock. What am I missing?

In VA if you modify your car in anyway from stock it;s altering it breaking the Law. If you switch to a Apex,Greddy any aftermarket exhaust on a Acura/Honda etc and if its not the equevalent in specs to stock then it's illegal. If it doesn't keep the same or lower DB levels it's Illegal.
I know as I have gotten to many tickets in my 13yrs of driving for my modified vehicles...

Cops mostly just mess with the import guys, they usually leave domestic cars (mustang, camaros, trans ams, etc...) alone. I kow people that have gotten pulled over for thier car being too low, when my car is lower, louder, brighter, etc...I used to run around in an older car of mine with neons on, and I've never gotten pulled over for anything besides speeding. Unfair for you import people.
