1/4 panel question
anybody know of a place to get rear 1/4 panels banged out for cheap?
is it that much of a pain? and is it even worth getting a car with rear 1/4 panel damage?
if welding is in order how much could it run? thx

Depends on where the damage is, and how bad. Unibody cars that have damage along the major body seams in the back can be really hard to fix, because the damage can go a lot deeper than the outside panels. If it's in the middle of the panel, or around the outside edge of the wheel well, repair might not be that hard.
So, is this minor cosmetic damage or did the car get hit?
If it's not bad, and you're looking to buy the car, you can take it by a body shop before you buy it. Professional opinions never hurt when you're making a buying decision.

well im about to buy a shell that has cosmetic 1/4 panel damage but they are pretty deep, i would have to tow it to a shop to get an estimate. was wondering if i should bother fixing a car that the price of the damages would be 10times the amount of the car or wait for another shell. its a 240sx btw, is it uni body?
Yes, pretty much everything for sale in the last 20 years has been unibody. If it needs to be towed, and has body damage, and you're thinking about fixing it, make sure you get it for really cheap. If it's that cheap, and you think it can fixed for fairly cheap without worrying about it actually being perfect, it may be worth it. Really depends on what you want to do with it though. Maybe someone on here will volunteer to take a look at it with you, or you can bring a knowledgeable friend.
Think about the price very carefully though. It's not really how deep the panel damage is, it's where on the panel it is.
