Default Help on buying, trasnporting, mounting a rolling chassis

Basically i would love to know what you know about buying a rolling chassis from an online source and then how to go about taking it back home and then the whole put it on jack stands or other alternative methods of raising it off the ground.

Basically I don't have any access to a free truck so i can transport a chassis. So how should i go about looking for a company or service that moves rollers?
is it a bad idea to go as cheap as possible on looking for a transport service?

I plan to check out the chassis but is it a bad idea to make only 1 trip to the chassis and then have it shipped without me there?(I will try to make sure its a respectable seller though)

Do most rollers have titles?

I don't plan on driving it any time soon(roller/ project )

I have seen in a couple web sites how people have stored their rollers, I am a noob, will jackstands do just fine? I am attempting to put in a new engine and some suspension, driveshaft parts (going to need space under the car).

any help is appreciated

If you plan to rent-a-truck, use Triangle - their trucks and vans have class 3 receivers w/electrical connections, you'll need to source a hitch and ball though.

Ask around about a dolly, or rent from UHaul

When I trucked up a turbo donor car from NC I just used a Triangle F-150 and a U-haul dolly

For lifting get a SUV jack and +3-ton jack stands, usually they have a +22in lift... Your best bet is to compare before you buy, the lift should be listed on the packaging

thanks you for the info

I am trying to get an 240sx s13 chassis somewhere in Virginia or North Carolina. This will probably be like anywhere from 60-150 mile transport.

So do services exist that will deliver a car from and to an address for fairly cheap? or should i be going with the triangle service and a uhaul dolly like you said?

if its that close...get a truck/trailer and when you go to look at it take the truck/trailer with you and bring it back...and yes it should have a title...

put it on 3 ton jack stands like he said....you will be fine..

wow looks like that 3 dollar a mile fee is a budget killer so looks like a truck/trailer combo would be good.
I am now going to ask/look for a person that knows s13s and stuff in my area and would be willing to help me out, possibly making the trip lol i will return favors as i can and just a 240 buddy i can reference for local support.

i will check regional forums
im in blacksburg va if any nissan/s13 guys are in there

Not for the price of doing it your self, plus you get to check out the chassis in person before handing over the cash. Get a buddy, order a pizza, and a cold 2-liter to bring. Rental companies rape you for gas so be sure to fill up, and return the dolly before you return the truck. Be sure to pull the drive shaft before towing a RWD vehicle on a dolly.

(don't forget your hitch! and rental contracts usually forbid towing so don't say a word)

or just put it on backwards...and lock the steering wheel and run the seat belt thru it...
