1991 BMW M5. own a legend :)
edit 03/04/2009: car no longer for sale.
edit: Some more reading info about the E34 M5. Some interesting stuff...it's amazing to see how this car was treated by the press. See for yourself with just about every mag article the car's ever been in:

It pains me to do this, but I've had some bad shit going down in my life lately. Even if this weren't happening, though, I'd be selling anyway; I'm about to pursue a carreer in aviation.
If I could keep this car for as long as I live, I truly would. It's THAT amazing. Since that can't happen, I'd like to make sure it goes to a good home, and so I'm listing it on VADriven only, at least for the time being. Here's your chance, Floda :-D.
On to the car itself.
There are a few people on here who have seen her in person, and a couple who have driven her. All can attest to how awesome it is, I'm sure. Topik will vouch for how well the car has been treated, how carefully it's been driven.
E34 M5s are considered by many to be the last "true" M5. They were the last BMWs to be ENTIRELY hand built. BMW M received a normal 535 body, and from there, the M5 was put together entirely by hand, engine included, by a team of M technicians. Each car took approximately 2-3 weeks from start to finish.
The engine is what truly makes the car shine. The biggest 6 cylinder ever made by BMW, the S38B36 3.6 is derived from the I6 in BMW's M1 supercar. Rated at 310 hp, with a 7000 RPM redline, the high compression engine is equipped with individual throttle bodies, Bosch fuel injection, and true equal-length stainless steel exhaust manifolds. The sound it makes is like nothing else on this earth.
edit:This car is not electronically limited and should top out around 165 mph.
These M5s are extremely rare. For the good ol' USA, only 1,465 cars were produced over its 3 years being sold in this country (1991-'93). That's less than 30 cars per state. God knows how many remain on the road today.
I'd suggest doing some more reading into the amazing history of these cars, it's fascinating whether or not you're buying.
Here's an interesting video on the car's history, I believe distrubuted to dealerships to train their salespeople on the vehicle. Quality isn't very good, but it's very informative:

PLEASE READ THE ABOVE WEBSITES, they are very informative. You don't want to jump into buying a car like this blindly; they're quite special.
Name: Coleman
Location: Northern VA (Vienna)
Means of Contact: Through this thread, PM, or my email: jcr211@email.vccs.edu
Car: Jet Black (Glanschwarz) 1991 BMW M5 (E34)
Mileage: 121000
Exterior: 8/10. The car is stunningly beautiful from 10 feet away. Standing closer, you'll be able to notice it's few blemishes. There are some rock chips on the doors. The paint is starting to oxidize slightly around the sunroof, and some swirlmarks become apparent in direct sunlight. A good polish would take care of those problems, and she'd be damn near perfect. Also some scraping on the underside of the front lip.
Interior: 9/10. The leather is in, for the most part, perfect shape, save for some wear on the driver's side bolster. The rest is absolutely beautiful. No cracking on dash. The latch mechanism on the glove box has broken, and so the glove box hangs open, but this is a cheap fix. The latches are known to break every two years or so.
Mechanical: 9.5/10. I have kept up with every bit of maintenance required, as one should with this car. Falling behind can seal its fate pretty quickly. I have all service records FROM BRAND NEW, including oil changes up until the day I got it. I haven't bothered to record my own oil /filter changes, but I give my word they've been done every 2000-3000 miles, never more. The only major service I've had to do was replacement of the driveshaft, which cost me ~$1500.
What the car will need: Tires are getting pretty bare. One was replaced recently due to a puncture, so only three need replacing. They're 235/17s so they aren't pricey at all. The car is also due for a valve check and adjustment soon (which should be done every 12000 miles). This is not a big ordeal, BMW dealers are used to doing it for E46 M3s on a regular basis. Should run ~$300 or so. Beyond those two items, it's in tip-top shape.
This car's engine is quite healthy. A dyno graph and video from a dyno day at Moore Automotive:

Dyno Video:
Current mods:
Conforti chip
Bilstein/Eibach Sport shocks and springs
Racing Dynamics swaybars and Strut tower brace
Dinan Camber Plates
Racing Dynamics Euro resonators in place of cats
Blackout kidneys and eyebrows
Factory Shadowline window trim,
OEM Hella Euro smileys with HID conversion
M Tech Kopi mirrors
Autosolutions short shift kit
On to pictures.
The car no longer sits on the BBS CH's shown in the first set of shots, I sold those a few months back. Currently riding on the stockers shown in the other set of pics.

PRICE: FIRM at $11,500. I am really in no hurry to get rid of this, and I believe it's a perfectly fair price for a car of this nature. I do have a bunch of extra/spare parts i'll be including with the car:
Turbine wheel covers
Original Mirrors
Stock catalytic converters
MOMO Competition steering wheel in brandnew condition, with E34 hub
Original headlights
New set of front brake pads
a few other odds and ends, will update when I pick the stuff up from storage
ABSOLUTELY NO TRADES. NONE.
