Default Ticket on I-295 any suggestions ??

I was pulled over near hanover on 295 coming back to school, the cop said i was going 87 when i know i was not i know i was speeding yes but not that drastic maybe 78 at tops i was following traffic nor passing anyone. i was slowed completely down by the time i past his car he was facing direction of traffic. as he pulled me over i asked to see his radar see proof of me going 87mph i understand he doesnt have to i asked nicely he proceeded to tell me if i ask another question he will pull me out of the car arrest me and take me to jail until my court date in april and tow my car i have two passengers to witness. so im asking any suggestions what to say in court like what to plead any arguments i shoudl bring up? Please only help i understand i was speeding i dont need to be called an idiot i realize this help thankyou vadriven........

I`d find a mechanic preferably one whos a good buddy of yours and get him to make you a reciept saying you had them calibrate your speedometer and make sure its just off enough to prove why you were doing that speed when the judge asks you hopefully he`ll see that the speedo was broke, see that you got it fixed and give you a warning but cant promise you anything worked for me before

I would tell them in court that he refused to show you the speed. The same thing happened to my mom when she got pulled over recently. She brought it up in court and her speeding infraction was reduced. I would definitely mention it.

Honestly I would mention that in court too...and bring your witnesses with you if possible. The more things to make it obvious that the cop was acting out of protocol and treating you as if you were acting belligerent when you weren't, the better.

Cops aren't required to show you the speed reading on the radar/lidar, although if it was a handheld unit I don't see why the cop would not show it to you. Assuming you weren't an ass to the cop, having witnesses that can an testify to that(and the cop having a power trip) will definately help your case.

To the OP: were there other cars around you? Its possible the cop may have clocked one of the cars around you and made the assumption that the car speeding was yours, a luxury sports coupe.

They will probably either reduce your ticket or drop it if you take a driver improvement class
