turbo wont spin at idle
b16a t3/t04e ceramic ball bearing turbonetics turbo. compression is good from the last time i checked it. no leaks (other than the return oil line). smokes at cold start then goes away. no loss of power. any ideas?
nothing to worry about. depding on the size ,at idle the exhaust pulse is barely enough to do anything, you tap the gas and the exhaust speeds up and is able to spin the shaft. if it was a tiny little turbo than it could be a problem with the shaft binding and such from too much play, since its a larger turbo you need more exhaust velocity to turn the prop.
IMO I would be a bit concerned. A ball bearing turbo should at least be spinning a little bit under idle. Is this a new turbo? Did you prime it before using it or just slap the bitch on?
i bet... it does spin on start then comes to a stop because of cold oil......
the smoke is from residual oil leaking from the seal..... kinda normal.
for a t4 on a b series it honestly shouldnt spin i had a tdo4 on my teg and it didnt spin
dont worry about it... wtf are you gonna do anyways. buy a new one?
if so give it to me
