Dumb Car Audio Question

Re: Dumb Car Audio Question
It can be done a few ways, I dont think any are really a good idea though.
If an amp has in and out rca's then you can do it that way, but if you want to take the speaker output straight to rca input of a second amp, I'm pretty sure it would sound like super shit.
Maybe splitting the rca's before the amp so you have 2 sets from 1, but bridging the 2 amps together to a sub would be bad more than likely too. Unless the sub is some godlike quality and RMS rating.

Yes, you can use an RCA splitter. It's done all the time. It's a good idea to split the RCAs behind the head unit, instead of where the amps are. That way you have two cables running to the amps from the dash, and if you get a better head unit with more than one set of RCA outputs, you already have the cables run and can just remove the splitter and go.

Re: Dumb Car Audio Question
I understand. My point was that it's more convenient to do it right behind the head unit and then run two RCA cables to the amps instead of running one RCA cable to the amps and then splitting it there. Where it's split doesn't matter except for convenience in the future.
