Take two cars, exact same car. One has AWD and the other is RWD. Which car is going to be faster from a stop?

 

for the first 60'? for a 1/8" mile? for a 1/4" for a mile?

And they aren't the exact same car, the AWD will add weight and drive train loss. What kind of tires? So many factors your leaving out and it sounds like just some stupid argument you and your dumb friends started

 

AWD should get the the RWD on the initial jump, but AWD has a much higher drivetrain loss if im not mistaken.

Just take off. Right off the line. Same tires on front and back

how about you actually build two cars, one awd and the other rwd, and race them?

because internet forums are the places where all of life's questions can be answered.

 

That would require friends that actually have these types of cars...we dont.

 

street tires its AWD no question. Slicks it may not matter much depending on the car. (weight/stall)
