anudder project
picked up another XS for free yesterday (well, almost free, I have to hardtail a frame for it)
it's all there, just in alot of pieces, lol.
so yeah.... here's a couple "before" pics....
gonna build a simple, cheap swingarm chop out of it, something for my girl to ride (I don't see her riding a rigid bike too well)
Just going to rework the back half of the frame, and I'm going to use the stock forks, wheels, etc. I made a set of midcontrols for my other bike, but decided not to use them, so they're going on this one. Shouldn't have to buy much other than a tank, bars, and some little odds-n-ends. If I can get it done for under $300 I'll be stoked
going for something similar to this as the end result

Re: anudder project
werd, thanks. I have a copule other side projects I have to finish first (KZ440 rigid, ratting my boss's street glide, and hardtail another XS frame) but then I'll be ready to make some progress on this one.
kinky
Don't hate. Remember the green chop? I only had $600 in that one (and sold it for $3500)
they're getting harder to find deals on, but they're out there. Usually rusting away in people's backyards, lol. My dad just picked up a clean stock one for $300. The guy I got this from had 2, and gave me one in return for doing his frame work.
it's really not that hard. Especially something like this one is going to be. Hell, I built my daily rider in my living room.

Nice, keep us posted...looks like no ride for me this season. Not going to have time to finish the current project (any of 'em) and I sold the Green Meanie last summer. You still at Diva? My office is down the skreet, I need to come check you out one of these days.
