I know a locked engine is pretty serious thing, but if everything else looks ok, that could be a good deal depending on what your plans for the car are. I don't think I'd count on being able to reuse that engine though, without actually knowing what's wrong with it. Some things are minor and are rebuildable, some are not. Without knowing, I'd just plan on not being able to rebuild it.

The answer is maybe. But don't bet on it. You'll at least be able to get some parts from the other engine no matter what, and of course the harness, ECU, etc.

What he said. Honestly, you can get the H22A JDM motor for pretty cheap nowadays, and it pretty much drops right in without too much of a hassle. I would switch out SOME things, like replace the auto-tensioner with an H23 manual model, but overall it has potential. But like what's been said, it all depends on the route you plan on taking with the car. Either way, good luck.
