sputtering if i cruise, can only drive if im accelerating (240sx SR20)
93 240sx, redtop s13 SR, bkr7e plugs
i've had the car for a year and this has never happened, nothing has changed
ok so my car out of nowhere started sputtering, i chaned out my plugs and it fixed it for a lil while, i went to change them again and one of plugs were messed up, the electrodes were touching. so anyways i changed them and its still sputtering if i try to drive at a constant speed. so if i drive it i have to accelerate. also it will die at idle. i cleaned the maf, i checked the wiring, to the coilpacks, CAS, the fuel pump works fine. can it just be a dirty fuel filter? if it is, wouldnt it just do it all the time ? anybody have any ideas?
p.s. a few days ago i checked the codes on my ecu and it shot out the engine coolent temperature sensor, should i even worry about that if the gauge reads and warms up fine ?

if the tempnsensor is shorted and telling the ecu that the engine is cold, it could cause a rich condition.
i would replece it.

Just use Drive and Reverse. Pedal to the medal to speed up, when you need to slow down, shift to reverse, and pedal to the medal once again. At least until you can figure out how to get it fixed.

Could be your fuel pressure regulator. I have a stock KA one but i doubt it would fit an sr rail.
What 240 are you driving now? I thought the white s13 was sold, the kouki was blown, and you sold the coupe a while ago.

You have a temp sensor (single wire)for the gauge on the dash and right next to it is the Coolant temp sensor or CTS. That tells the computer the temp of the engine. (IIRC) You can use the KA temp sensor and pick it up at advanced auto. Do a little reaserch on this.

Brand new Nissan OEM ECU temperature sensor (2-wire). If your vehicle is getting bad gas mileage or is having idling issues after the engine has warmed up, your ecu temperature sensor may be bad.
Replacing this sensor will enable your ecu to measure coolant temperature correctly in order to calculate the right amount of fuel for the engine - otherwise it will run rich constantly.
Works for S13 KA24DE and S13 SR20DET motors.
As far as the spuderring:
Make sure your gapped to .28
Try a another MAF....BTW the SOHC KA mafs work with SR's
