i have a 1990 civic hatch i have a prob when im turning left if feels like the right side front wheel is wobbling or something the axel is new and the lug nuts are tight what else could it be im thinking wheel bearing any other suggestions
if you grab a hold of you wheel and if can make it "wobble" it in it out vertically, i think thats how you check the ball joint if its bad. Its one way for ball joint, and another for wheel bearing. Fabrik8 might know what im talking about and maybe could re-say it to make more sense.
im goin to check it out tomorrow is there a way to check tha ball joint i was also told the wheels probably need balanced
It's not wheel balance.
To check the ball joint, have the car jacked up from the subframe or unibody or whatever just not from the suspension/lca. Grab the tire top and bottom and shake it, if you feel a looseness in it it's usually a ball joint (although if your axle nut is loose it will do this too so check that first if it's a new axle and somebody just had that nut off.)
Grabbing the tire on the sides and it being loose indicates worn tie rods.
i found out wat it was today one of the damn upper strut mounting bolts busted through the top inside the engine bay so now i have to get tha hole welded or somethin thats crazy ive never seen nothin like that happen
