i dont have any experiance with them. never had a car painted there, or know anyone who has. what quality do you think i can get from them for about 1k?? do they actually sand the car down, and prime it, then paint it?? its a ford lightning im looking to paint

pretty much...i shouldnt have bought the damn thing. i traded a bmw in for it. but i dont wanna go out and spend 2-3k on a paint job. or if anyone on here paints, and wants to give me a deal. i have an ar-15 i could trade for a decent paint job, and maybe some cash to go with it

 

WOW....lets take a nice vehicle to a place that is known for their expensive and sometimes reasonable paint jobs that are known for looking a little on the cheap side. If you want to be cool just rattle can that biatch yo! seriously a grand for a maaco job???? for a little more you could get a nice paint job from a decent professional!

 

thats what im trying to find out. i have never had a car painted before. never needed it. i have no clue what a good paint job would cost, or if im getting ripped off. im here asking for advice, thats all. no need to bash me

 

dead up man... just post a new thread saying "can anyone paint my car for 1k" you'll get better responses and someone who's prolly reputable and desperate for cash.

not really bashing dude....jus never heard of a 1k paint job from maaco. average one is around 5 to 7 hundred depending on the vehicle. like i said get some more money...sell ur ar-15, and get a badass job done by someone who is KNOWN for doing good paint jobs. like i said before maaco is good at doin cheap lookin jobs, or doing shitty work like not wet sanding or improper clear coat applications.

 

expect to spend 1800 - 2000 for a decent paintjob on a truck of that size.... NEVER NEVER NEVER go to maaco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

actually a couple years back when i wanted to paint my teg, i heard there was a guy at maaco in norfolk that could spray his ass off if you taped it yourself.

its not the shop so much as its the artiste! sometimes you just gotta go in and ask to talk to some of the painters there. see if they do work on the side (discreetly). if they dont, they are probably a finger painter. if they do, tell the manager thats who you want to paint your shit!
