Re: Thought I was getting a Genesis Coupe, but wound up buying...
Well the only thing I can say positive about going with the mustang.... at least it's known to make a decent amount of power and still be somewhat reliable.

I drove quite a few cars and did quite a bit of research before buying the Mustang including both Genesis models. The 3.8 track was fun, but the 2.0t did absolutely nothing for me. The Mustang was just more fun than anything else I drove. It was quicker and handled better (yes, I said the Mustang out handled the Genesis), plus it has way more potential on the upside if I decide to dump the LX and start modifying the new car. There wasn't enough difference in the price to worry about. Did have quite a few very cool salesmen who were cool enough to let me drive how I'd really want to drive on the test drives Basically, it just all boiled down to the Mustang being the best bang for the buck available for what I was looking to spend and not quite being ready to picture myself in a 330i yet.

the 2.0t is probably dull as hell in stock form .. like 200 crank maybe 225 torque? the turbo 4 becomes fun in the after market.. the mustang is still a good choice, the reviews i've read (indirect reviews because ford didn't want them to do a direct comparison) all said favorable things about the mustang.
i'm waiting to see how the turbo 4's handle boost and upgrades and what not... but i've been really considering selling my car to get the hyundai ( never thought i'd say that, ever).
