You dont need a b16 case either any B series hydro case will work.

 

100-150 is about what they go for. also, do you know what diff he has? because some diffs require different cases because of the clearancing due to the spider gear housing. most likely he'll be able to use any B case, but you cannot make a universal general statement like that.
