Default whats faster...

what do yall think is faster...

a) LS bottom end w/ stock pistons and a VTEC head(LSvtec)

b) stock B16

...I usually see stock b16s run about mids 14's in the quarter. My LS ran a 15.0...would VTEC make it just about the same?

yea, the displacement of the ls vtec would make you want to assume that it would be faster, but b16's are the torqueless wonders.......

I would say the B16...but if you got some higher compression cams in the B18 I would give it to that...

of course, just think about it. What does an LS redline at? 7200? and the B16a? 8200. The problem is the the rods wont be able to handle that shit after awhile.

Wrong. walt please stay out of tech section til you get a motor. j/k all you need is a vtec oil pump and your shit will be straight. yeah the rods can only handle 15 lbs. on the stock bottom end right walt?

i've heard of people spinning bearings on the ls bottom end when revving too high, especially if the motor has some miles on it. a fresh set of bearings when you install it should take care of this.
