Exclamation SUBS/SPEAKERS AREN'T WORKING!?!

Live in Portsmouth...
Vehicle: 1986 Nissan 300zx

Problem:
Car was installed with a system (consisting of) two amps (1 for speakers/tweeters...1 For Subwoofer)... They magically stopped working?

Equipment:
Clarion Head Unit
Alpine 4-3-2 amp(speakers) to a Fosgate amp(sub)... PUNCH(12" sub)

Thing is that i know a lot about this kind of stuff and I just can't figure this one out.

I have checked/tried:
*pushing buttons
*Unhooking the battery
*unhooking all wires and reconnecting
*checked all fuses

What happened was:
was cruising on my way home from work... listening to a CD turned up but not real real loud...
I think i was trying to change the equalizer or some shit ( I have no clue what button(s) i might have pushed) and the speakers & Sub just magically stopped working. The amps are under like a false floor and seemed very hot to the touch... i turned off car and restarted and got nothing... So I'm here and i desperately need some help from someone who knows wtf is wrong...

Could it be:
the Amp is fried or bad ground?

I NEED HELP SOMEONE CONTACT ME AT 757 927 9639 TEXT PREFFERED! BUT YEAH HELP ASAP... HAVE MONEY BUT ONLY AVAILABLE AT NIGHT EXCEPT TUESDAY'S IM ALL DAY...

OR PM ME ASAP THANKS

if they got hot they should have had a safety feature to turn them off....let it cool down overnight then see if they come back on....if they do then you need to put some cooling fans on them...or take them from under the false floor....they are getting too hot...

yep, sounds like the thermal protection kicked in.... let it cool down and give it another shot. If they're under a false floor you might wanna get some air moving under there. Radio shack sells 12v fans really cheap.

make sure you take a digital volt meter to your main fuse up front, there could be a hairline fracture in the fuse and many times it looked good but turns out to be broken. update?

Okay here's the update...

I went to a buddy's house that i work with...
We fiddle-farted around with the same shit, BUT......
we took a screw driver to the power wire on the amp and got NADA sparks?\
So i figured it was the power or a ground...

SO:
I took the fuse for power wire completely out and reinserted and tightened the capsule really tight...
then i was like fuck it i give up and turned the car onand it FUCKING WORKED?
WTF!!!!!

LoL...but I'm guessing that that probably wasn't even the problem... I'll update if shit hits the fan again...

THANKSGUYS!!!! BTW whaty is best way to mount and run wires for those fans?

run them off of the remote wire, they pull like .05amp so it should be fine

edit: unless your wiring a bunch of them.

sounds like your fuse was burned at the end on the inside, have had that happen to me a few times.

btw, what type of fuse are you using for you main amp wire? A lot of people used to install these cheap wires which used an ATC type fuse (http://www.manventureoutpost.com/mar...s/cw/20499.gif) that had HORRIBLE connection problems.

Do you use this type?
