1997 Jetta vr6
I have decided to let the Jetta go. My ass is itching for something else. So it's for sale. It's a '97 with 120,309 miles on as of 3/24/2010. It is running perfectly good. The only issue that I ever have with it is a small oil leak which will be fixed the next time I change the oil. I drive this car down to FL once a month and average between 31-32 mpg at 70-80 mph. Keep in mind, pre turbo it was getting maybe 25mpg and that was if I kept it under 70. I talked to a few other vrt guys and they experience the samething. 400 miles to 12-13 gallons is nothing for me to complain about
The car is freshly turboed. I am looking to trade for something with quattro
The price right now is best offer. 4,600 obo.
Will be Replaced :
MAF -replaced
Spark Plugs - replaced and replaced again as of 3/22/10
Spark plug wires - replaced
O2 sensors - replaced
What's done to the beast :
Paint was improved after buying the car (detailed by a local friend who does wetsanding on cars and polishes them)
Sideskirts were redone
Supersport 60/40 cupkit
New tires
Mk4 VR6 headgasket (changed in sept. 2008)
Neuspeed P-chip (stock one included) *** Upgraded to c2 30# tune for boost
2.5" highflow magnaflow cat(now gutted). to 2.5" piping to stock muffler. (not loud enough to get pulled over for)
Smoked Ecodes
New taillights (just the same oem stock GLX tails)
New smoked front turnsignals
Smoked sidemarkers
Mk4 Avus wheels (will include stock Buggattis)
Pioneer 3way speakers with Pioneer head unit(matches interior perfect during day and night) 2 subwoofers with 1,000 watt amp
New insulation under carpet. Washed the carpet before putting it back in.
NEw window regulators.
New wheel bearings
New air filter
New strut caps
New strut bearings and bushings
New rear rotors and pads
New front pads
Interior has been changed up a bit
Seats are in perfect condition except for drivers seat which has wear on it
MK4 Jetta badge
The coolant flange that holds the sensors has been replaced
The rear spoiler gaskets were replaced
The turbo kit,
.57 trim t3/t4 with a 63 hotside.
30lbs bosch injectors
c2 30# file software
4"MAF housing
2.5 intercooler piping
boost gauge
oil pressure gauge
SAI delete
polished intake manifold
2.5 turbo back
38mm wastegate with open dump
ngk bkr7e plugs gapped at .022
copper core plug wires
1.8t diverter valve recirulated
10.5:1 cr
10lbs of boost ran off of wastegate (the safe limit for stock compression, people push it to 14 - 15lbs but I daily drive this and 10lbs is enough when and if I ever do hit boost)
The bad :
There is a few dings and such
Nothing major
The clear coat started peeling on the roof, but I got it to stop. It's smaller than a dollar bill folded in half.
The AC needs to be recharged. It was removed for the turbo install.
