Lotus is finally bringing there Elise over here to the states! It runs 4.8 0-60 and a 12.0 sec 1/4mi, and at 1975 lbs, it handles like a dream. All for "only" $39k......I know what my next car is gonna be

P.S. For more info, go to RoadandTrack.com

How can that car be only 4.8 0-60, yet pull a 12 flat 1/4.

That seems way off.

naw, they replaced the old 160hp crap, with a tuned celica gts engine making 190hp, and yes the corvette isn't the best performance buy for the money anymore!

celica GTS (Yamaha) power plant. 190hp, 133ft.-lb torque. I remember reading of a elise with a b18c5 in SCC a few years back. For you anti-corvette owners, I'd say the Z06 is still the bargin. at just over $50k you get more ammenities with close to, if not the same performance. I doubt you'll be able to get your hands on one of these for sticker price anyways. They'll easily fetch $45-50k.

you want bigger hp/torque numbers but i doubt you'll be able to get a better suspension and power to weight ratio.. well at 190 hp and 1900 thats 10lbs per hp.. pretty impressive
