i have a 91 ls 4 door integra and yesterday i took out the driverside c.v. axel, cleaned and replaced the boot and it is still click clacking everytime i turn left and right but not doing it in reverse and not doing when i coast while turning or throw it in neutral while im turning.

if anybody has any idea what it might be please i need help its sounds like its getting worse by the week and its really anoying.

HELP

oh yea the center boot/pad in the middle of the axle where is that supposed to sit after fully installed?

So was the boot torn prior to replacement?

yes that is why i replaced it, it is not the c.v. joint/axle

If the boot has been torn and letting dirt/sand/debris into the joint for months, chances are the joint is too far gone. When an axle boot rips or tears, it must be replaced immediately. If you wait until you hear a clicking until you replace it, a new boot isn't going to help you.

Just replacing the boot, and cleaning it won't fix the axle if the joint is already broken.

Sounds like you need an axle.
