ok so im wondering if its legal to put a cold air intake on a car in VA, i dont live up north i dont have any emissions or anything

i ordered a PRM intake for my s2000 an i have watched videos on you tube an such an its loud (specially when V-Tak kicks in yo)

the reason i ask this is cause i plan on gettin a exhaust that looks pretty stock an was thinkin if i get pulled over for sound i can say the exhaust is stock but i added a CAI that makes the car alot louder....... granted i wouldnt want to say that if the intake is illegal....... so any one know about the legality of a CAI

It will still pass inspection and everything. I have never had a cop make me pop my hood.
But im sure that time will come.

 

if anything comes of it and you ever get a ticket, put the factory airbox back on take a pic and the court will drop it. then just put the CAI back on when you get out of court, but i've NEVER heard of anyone ever having some d-bag(some people use the term cop) say anything about em. Im pretty damn sure that their not illegal anyway

exploited is correct. by written law. but there are a few loop holes or clauses(for example window tint) but is something you need to read more into.

 

Anything fun/enjoyable is illegal. But this is one i don't think they care to much about. lol

 

get certified to do inspections, do it yourself.
