koni yellow/gc problem
using koni yellows from a DC integra - shocks
using civic ground control coilovers w/springs
After installing the rear koni yellows from a DC integra the rear spring doesnt even
touch the tophat with the coilovers adjusted all the way up. Are GC shocks notorious for this or is this a improper setup. I have other sets of civic springs I can use which are longer but seem to ahve more coils near the top. Here are some pictures. THe tokicos were my old setup in the rear:
tried to get the spring rates eibach wouldnt give them 2 me.. they said 25 percent
stiffer than stock lol

no preload?

rear dc koni yellow w/rear gc

dc koni w/gc vs old tokico rear setup

dc koni w/gc vs koni w/ eibach spring for dc (how i bought them)
trying to make this setup work with the sets of springs that i have. i heard integra shocks have a height difference in the rear...maybe this setup is ok once the suspension compresses? im not the expert

Yep, that's how they are!
Throw em' on there. You can then raise the car up to adjust height. (and please put it on jackstands when adjusting, it's simple and dumb- but you're putting your arms inside the wheel well to adjust the height,. and I've seen many a jack let go)

Also, some coilovers will come with a bushing for the top of the spring to prevent the spring moving from side to side. You may want to look into these if you have any problems.
the weight of the car will settle everything in place.
and im surprised eibach wasnt helpful to you because when i ordered mine, the guy was asking what i was using the suspension for and gave me his opinion on what spring rates to use.

thanks guys, should i tighten the nut on the shock once its in the car and theres preload to it or tighten it up out of the car? does that matter (besides for aligning everything)?
