Anyone having trouble securing housing at ODU?
Registered on time, etc etc. I keep getting the run around from the housing people as I still have not been given either a confirm or deny on my housing app. I've paid the deposit, been approved by admissions, etc. Every time I call they say that they still have not assigned housing for anyone who did not get early admittance.
Anyone else have this problem? It's like less than a month till classes start and I still don't know where I'm living. I'm starting to freak out a little.

on campus housing is an absolute nightmare at ODU. there's almost always a column about it in the monarch newspaper about how people hate the lottery system used for getting room assignments and how shitty the odds are for even getting in, or how long it takes to get news of having/not having a place to stay, often leaving more than a handful of people scrambling to secure a place to live so they can attend the classes they're paying ridiculous amounts of money for.

Andy,
When dealing with the staff at ODU, e-mail chains work great. They're timestamped, and the lack of customer service can be seen by management if you "cc" them every now and then. Email chains speed up the service process greatly.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I've found that TCC's customer service is far superior to ODU. This might be to the student/staff ratio however. I sort of miss that place.

Well at least it seems I'm not alone.
Still not as bad as Virginia Wesleyan last year
Thanks Jay, I'm going to try and email them from now on and call to make sure they check emails. the Timestamp/CC idea is great. And yes, when I went to TCC I never had any problems at all. Figures.
edit: Just rechecked my email.
