Catch can setup?? Not sure previous owner has it setup correctly
Ok I may have to take some pics but how should an oil catch can be setup? I have a catch can already on my car installed by the previous owner but I've never seen one set up this way. He took out the caps in the back of the block and had some screw in nipples and ran two hoses to the catch can.
I may have to take pics of this to explain it better but normally i've only seen them run off the valve cover or at least one line run off the valve cover not both off the back of the block.
some insight on this would be awesome.
Just trying to clean up the engine bay a little and get rid of some extra non-needed hoses if possible.

sounds like he is venting the crank case. there are a few ways to set it up

It should be installed on the valve cover vent, or whatever other vents are there. It's usually to catch oil that gets pushed out of the vents. I can't say for sure without seeing the pictures, but what you may be describing is a high-flow crankcase vent which can flow a lot more than the stock vent setup. It's not uncommon on Honda race cars, and is getting common on street cars too. It really isn't very necessary on street cars because the build spec is very different and the cylinder pressure is much lower (crankcase pressure is a lot different between race builds and street builds basically).

I am assuming its a crank case vent then and it's in an EG hatch with LS/V setup Fully built with a turbo kit. I will take some pics.
Yepp thats the same setup I run.
Crankcase Ventilation Setup. Helps release excess pressures in the block.
Used for extremely high compression or heavily boosted cars.

Ok yeah thats the exact kit that is on my car so I am pretty sure after some research that it is installed correctly. Man this car is nothing but issues lately. On the way home from work today the fitting that was welded to the oil pan broke off.
