I'm no honda guy but I am about to pick up a 91 crx si for $200. The body is in great shape (just got painted black). I'm going to michigan to pick it up, in about 2 weeks. The motor has a rod hanging out of the block. So it needs a new motor. How much money do you think it will cost me to put a new motor in it. Also is it very hard to come by the factory motor. THanks
well if the only thing that is wrong with it is the motor that is a good steal, but you have to ask yourself what kind of motor you want , just a factory motor would be a d16a6 if its an si and i believe a d15b2 if it is a dx ... if you want a better motor there are many b series motors just depends what you want
but you could pick that d16a6 for super cheap, less then 400 bucks if you look hard enough, a lot of times, cheaper then that. keep an eye out for people parting out their cars in the classifieds.
I say don't even mod the car at all, because once you swap you'll have to mod the suspension too. you'll get hooked and you'll keep throwing parts in it when you really wanna work on that z32. the force is strong on hondas.
