Drive a 97 integra. Sounds like one of my rear wheel bearings went out. Could one of you experienced mechanics out there give me a fairly good detailed description on how to replace these? Never done it.

Get a press. Or take the hub assembly to someone who does.

my buddy has a press. detailed description: (i'm drunk, so please excuse the sarcasm/idiocy)
1. remove wheel, this involves the use of a 19mm socket, or tire iron.
2. remove the 2 14 mm bolts holding the caliper on
3. remove the 2 brake pads
4. remove the 2 bolts holding caliper bracket on. you may have to remove caliper e-brake cable pin thing
5. remove the 32mm bolt holding on hub assembly.
6. i forgot, but this should get you started

make sure not to strip the 2 philipps head screws. drillin them out sucks balls.... ask me how i know

Remove the wheel....remove the caliper with the bracket (2 14mm bolts. Removal of the cable or separation in any way is unnecessary)....remove the rotor (2 screws which may require a impact driver or a punch and hammer)....remove the hub center cap and 32mm nut behind it...pull/smack off hub...remove rear race if it is stuck(may require a cut off wheel and a hammer and chisel).... install new hub and re-assemble. No press needed

the bearings are exact fit and must be pressed in.

 

The rears arent sold by just bearings. You have to buy a whole rear hub assembly.

it ran me 160 for a rear hub assembly.

Jack the car up so the wheel is off the ground, spin it and put your hand on the spring. If you can feel a grinding vibrating though the spring, it's the bearing.

Also turning left/right at speed - the bearing should be worse when it's loaded. (turning left = right side bearing, vise versa.)
