99 Acura TL catalytic converter?
I have a 99 Acura TL my catalytic converter is gone bad and it was made for California emissions. Do I need to replace the California emissions cat if I live in Va. or can I just get a regular cat? I just want the check engine light to go off, and for the car to run good, and to replace the cat. Does it have to be a honda part? The honda Cat is about $900.

no no and no, main difference between cal emissions cars is 02 sensors vs af sensors. a lot of cars in cali have air fuel sensors rather then 02 sensors...well older cars. now days its all the same.
bottom line is get any cat from same car and you'll be fine. used or new, any brand.
dont forget that ecm parameters for check engine light are all the same no matter where car is sold / titled(withing us that is)
