Commuting to DC. Should I slug?
I start my first real job ever this coming Monday out in DC (near Navy Yard). The bus is $9 a day or I can slug. I've heard nothing but good things about slug. But I fear, that I'll get to the commuter lot and of course no one is going where I need to go or something is going to happen and I'll be SOL. Anyone have any personal experince doing this. I'll be slugging from Woodbridge to DC/Navy Yard and need to get to work 8.30ish. I also have concern on how to slug home, I feel that's more complicated then slugging in. I'm going to go ahead and buy a smart trip card just in case I get screwed and need to metro back.
So any advice, comments, stories?

it sucks..especially since your from the woodbridge area..i hated working in DC...only way you wouldnt hit traffic is if you were on 66 by 6:30 am..before HOV opens...
is your job good?
you could get a parking space in a garage and just drive
commuting for me is a little different than you though
i'm Arlington => Georgetown so I just drive

Yea the pay is sweet. But driving all the way there would be a PITA. I drove to springfield last year and that could take 30min and it always got worst right after springfield. My job has free parking. I just highly doubt I'll ever drive there. Except when its warm, then I'll just take my bike.
When I worked at the Navy Yard, I drove in and didnt hit too much traffic. I would have to be in at 730am though. And they had a garage. I've heard about slug, but dont know anyone who has actually used it. Have you checked the website?
