2000 Civic power lock issue
So, I can be pretty lazy sometimes, and this issue is a good example of that. Almost a year ago this problem started with my power door locks that I can't really figure out because I just don't know enough about how it is wired and to be honest, haven't cared enough.
I'll explain the locks on my car for those who may not be familiar. The lock on the driver door has a manual switch and the power switch. When you lock and unlock the manual one on the driver side it will lock and unlock the passenger side also, which only has the manual switch. When you lock and unlock the manual switch on the passenger door it does not operate the driver side. When the car is started, it will wait a second then lock both doors. When it is turned off, it immediately unlocks both.
The problem I'm having is when the car is started, the doors will lock like they are supposed to, wait another couple seconds then unlock again. You can use the manual switch on the driver door and it will lock both sides, but as soon as you let off it unlocks again. Same goes for the power switch. If the car is off, you can lock the driver side with the manual switch and it will lock both sides and stay like it is supposed to. Even when it's off the power switch will do the same thing where it locks then unlocks again.
To add to it I noticed recently, though it may have always done it and I jsut noticed, when the car is on and you operate the power windows either up or down and locks will act up and try to lock, but obviously don't like to do that, so they unlock again.
Any suggestions? Anybody? I don't really know where to start.
Thanks, Mike.

civic si only came 2 door. power locks came oem. it does have an alarm/keyless entry system that came on the car when i got it. could that alarm have gone bad or something causing this?
your alarms fucked up buddy. im guessing its a DEI brand or an upper end autopage because there the only ones i know of that are sold in this area that have the lock when in motion feature. depending on what model i may be able to swap it out for you for a small cost. pm me if interested
