VIR.... Longer... Better....
Hey guys, during the Grand Am weekend Oct 2-5 I got the pleasure of running on the new patriot circuit. USDrift was running a demo that weekend and during racing down time we got to run and drift on the new course. It is awesome with some great elevation changes, and depending on which direction you run, there's some really fun downhill S's that turn into an almost Laguna Seca-esque corkscrew with a long left hand sweeper at the end. In my AE86 corolla with barely 100hp I was in 3rd for the whole track once i got to speed and if i had grip tires in the rear it could be run in 4th. From what I was told we were the first cars to run on it. What an honor that was. Randy Probst even came out to play with us. The track is super fun and we are actually bringing a competition to it next year. You have to check it out though, if you like elevation change and turns over crests, its a blast.

Actually it looks to me it makes it more of a handling track than it was before. I think weaker hamsters have a better chance now.

Track days are usually about $300 to $500 a weekend more or less. depending on who you go with or what it involves. Those are pretty much the bottom line for school type events for anything resembling a novice. If you have been around for a while you can find ways to get laping days with no instruction for less, but as a beginner you are not going to be able to be involved in those.
