need some decent cams....any knowledgeable advice???
i'm in the process of rebuilding my spare b18a block and i need to find some decent cams for it,(prefer used to keep the price reasonable, but thats just what i'd like to find)anyone that has used or familiar with a set of cams that would do well with what i have please drop me a line or two, thanks.
this is what i'm working with thus far.doing an all motor set up that can still be driven on the street.
HEAD (b18b)
Brian Crowler valves, dual valve springs and retainers
port n polish
blox intake manni
arp head studs
port matched t.b.
cold air intake
header with 2 1/2 in. collector,2 1/2 cat and all the way back 2 1/2
BLOCK (B18a)
type r high comp. pistons(nippon)81mm
new honda rings,bearings,ect.
stock ls crank(will probably get it micro polished, pistons not installed yet)
new oil,water pump,timeing ect.
thats all i can think of right now,i beleive the compression ratio will be 12:2:1(what i was told)
i also have some 450 injectors,i still need a chipped ecu, convert to obd1...ect. just need to know what cams i should use.....thanks

jteck123: bc sounds good,(as stated in thread)already have bc valves, springs n retainers...thanks
vroomvroom: "no vtak" is correct.was going to boost, bought a built head n rings went to shit shortly after i installed head and bought a complete turbo setup.so found some high comp pistons and just gonna try to build something reliable and fun to drive
any recomendations on what stage, or does it just depend on how deep my pockets are?want to get a good streetable setup, appreciate the advice ya'll
^(that even looks redneck

Re: need some decent cams....any knowledgeable advice???
If you are using all BC valvetrain then I would only use their camshafts . It seems the bc0023 and bc00022 are your choices and share the same valvetrain requirements so you're good to go on using them. Crower is the father company so I don't think using their cams should be an issue (verify by consulting their tech support). I highly doubt your motor is in the area of 12.2cr. I want to say more like in the area of 11:1 if it hasn't been milled/decked or has had "cc" work done. I would shoot for 403 or bc00022 and be streetable, if you can obtain 12:1cr go with bc0023 or 404 and you will need a good tuner to idle those.

too bad i can't neg rep your dumb ass
and OP:
please do not buy used cams; unless you have at least some experience and can mic them before you buy them. it's just bad practice imo.
