Default foxbody mustang electrical question

im in the process of building my 89 mustang and ive run into a snag. i had to remove the dash to replace the heater core. and after i hook everything back up ive come across a problem. Im not getting any parking lights, tail lights (but i get brake lights) or instrument panel lights (but ill get check engine light, door open light, etc..)

now my first though was a fuse, so i checked and replaced the fuse and got nothing

so my question is, is there anything specific to look for?
or is it just a matter of going through and trying to find a bad wire or somethething??

im new to this electrical stuff, so any help would be apprecviated

thanks guys,
-nick

You more that likely have your headlight harness unplugged from the switch itself, even if you did not remove it you still could have pulled on the dash hard enough to knock it loose, That is were i would start first, If that is not your problem pm me and i will try and walk you through it.

Old Fords use really horrible electrical connectors. Check that they're all plugged in and that none of the connector pins have backed out of the connector housings.

Nothing like randomly losing headlights rolling down the interstate at night due to a switch that felt like going bad right then. Luckily the advance I stopped at just a couple miles away had one in stock.

Yanko - next time you do a heater core no need to remove the whole dash, weve done 2 now in 2 different cars ive had without removing the dash.

i found the problem
the headlight wire connector had a section of it broke off wich left 2 wires just hanging there not making contact with the prongs in the switch

swapped out the connector and everything worked fine

ill post pics in a bit to show yall what im talking about

thanks for the help everybody
