Serious question,

I was driving down Jefferson and noticed this Silverado had some crazy offset truck wheels and the tires that were mounted to them were easily stretched 2 to 2 1/2 inches on either side. Think 12 inch wide wheel with 8 inch worth of tread but they weren't low profile or anything, they were your standard 33" off roading tires.

It was otherwise 100% stock looking truck.

Is this really a thing people do? It looked pretty sketchy. When I was stopped beside him you could see budges in the sidewall where they're going to eventually fail.

Well I have done it many times. I dont tink I have any pics of my nissan but I had 14" wide boggers on 14" wide rims and it looked good as shit and it actually wore the tires even. It took a case of ether to get them on tho. LOL

EDIT I forgot about these. I had them on my blazer and they are 12.5 on 12 wides.

 

Dude you have no idea. We get people wanting to save money on tires not as wide so we have to stretch them. They suck worse than low profiles.
