As the title states, I got pulled yesterday. I am not here to piss and moan. Just want to see if i can get a couple of questions answered. I was waiting my turn to pull out of the target on first colonial road when a cop slowed down and waved me on. "Ok, ill go." So i slowly just pull into the left turn lane and she pulls up behind me, lights go on. I got pulled be cause my exhaust is illegal.No, I didnt burnout, No i didnt rev it. So here's the deal. The car is an s13. I just bought it on tuesday. The exhaust came with the car. The cop said that i can prepay the fine, go to court and pay the fine, or change out my exhaust or put a silencer on it, show proof at the hearing, and hope the judge will have mercy on my soul. Ok, simple enough. The thing is, my exhaust system is completely stock, except for the tip. If i just put the muffler back on, would that be sufficient enough? The cop didnt see the whole exhaust, just the tip, and I think she is under the assumption that its a whole system. I dont want to roll up, say "I put the muffler back on", and have the judge say, "what about the rest of it?" Also do I have a chance on the judge lessening or dropping said charge? If it helps, I have no violations or accidents and no criminal history. And one more thing. How much would the fine be? I tried to look it up on the city's website, but it doesn't say. Thanks!

 

Exhaust tickets are around $96. I haven't had one in over a year, but the last time I did it was right around that.

 

I fucking hate stupid shit like this. How often do you see Harley owners pulled for thier stupid ass exhaust?

Find some random stock s13, take a picture of the exhaust outlet, and take it to court.

You may have to pay court costs, but that's it. I don't know about Va Beach, Hampton I didn't even have to pay court costs so.

 

Give the cop/judge the Gerard Butler "Law Abiding Citizen" treatment.

You won't get a fine if you do what I told you, or just put a stock muffler back on your car.

They call them "fix-it" tickets for a reason; they want you to fix it.
