The good: 3rd owner. Squeeky clean title (92 on Autocheck). I purchased in April 2009 w/ active CPO that expired June 2009. The car had 39,xxx when I bought it. It was delivered to me mechanically and cosmetically perfect by Advantage Certified ( www.onlybmw.com ) in Manassas, VA. They have one of the most reputable service shops in this area.
Oil changes no more than every 5k (usually earlier) Mobil 1 5w40. Recent tires (Falken Ziex), OE front rotors and pads, belts, aligment, all since like October 2009/48k. I have receipts from all the work that I have done since I've owned it, but not from PO's. VA inspection good thru 2/11.
Mods? Nothing really. Just blacked out grills, color matching license plate covers and a shorty antenna.
The bad: Power soft top hydraulic motor is out. About $500 in parts and DIY articles all over the Z4 forum. Can be done in much less than 3 hours. Broken driver side cupholder. Front bumper has 2" dent at very bottom from pushing up into a parking bump stop thingie, paint chipped off there, and a few rock chips on same bumper from highway driving. I think one other little chip on hood and front pass fender. Hood BMW roundel film peeled some. That's it.
