Default Classic car information (1976 Camaro)

I know that the classic car community is small here but, I am interested in buying an 1976 Camaro. Does anybody know about what these cars are worth restored? Or any shops in the 757 area that can help me restoring it. The car is currently not running but the body is in great shape. It also has the biggest V8 offered that year and stick shift transmission. I dont know to much about these cars, but I am reading up on the internet. I will post pictures tomorrow of the car.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

A 76? Man those were hideous......

In restored condition, that body style isn't worth a whole lot. There isn't really a demand for them other than people turning them into drag cars.

And pm nftuatn about restoring it if your serious.

Like anything else, the restored value is directly proportional to how much money you invest in it. Put a lot of money into it and it will be worth a lot of money.

Really though, that body style will never be particularly sought after or valuable. That's going to make it really hard to recover the money that you've invested, because the value of the car will be mostly the money in parts that you've added. If it was an earlier body style, there would be the value of the parts and additional value because it's desirable, not just the value of the parts.

I think they're incredibly ugly. They aren't known for their handling, or their looks, or their build quality. They're light though, and can house a decent sized engine, which is about the only two good things you can possibly say about them. So if you want a drag car, you're set. I wouldn't suffer the public humiliation of driving it on the street, even if you did the wise thing by leaving the denim jacket at home.

I dont think it's horrid looking but, is certainly not the best looking either. I did some searching around last night and pretty much found out the same as what you all told. The car was from family so I think im just going to pass on it, thanks again for the help!

i did one along time ago...actually turned a 78 into a 73...

took the 73 front clip and switched it out/did the 73 rear body panel and also changed the roof clip to get rid of the t-tops and go with a solid roof...

a 71-3 body style is a lot more desireable and sexy looking than the 74-81 but its still a 76 by the vin.

Get it if you want to have some fun with it, but don't get it if you're looking for something to make money on.
