I currently have a 98 civic lx with a y7 bottom end and y8 head turbo motor that spun a rod. I want to know what head gasket and timing belt I need to put a y8 head on a d16z6 bottom end and I keep hearing timing will be off. I know about the one arp head bolt and I do have the Ry wire conversion from OBD2 to OBD1/ p28 chipped ecu. I'm tired of goggling it only to come up with different combination of heads and bottom ends.

The H/g is easy - use Y8

I forget the timing belt but let me get back to you. I remember 1 combo will be too tight

 

I believe last time I did this you needed to get the belt for what head you were going to use.
