what a deal, such a great trans, they dont get much better than this, and it has the better 4.4fd for highway cruising, GLWS/T man, this thing wont be here long bro.

are you sure? from what i've found the j4d meant it had the 4.4 fd meaning higher rpms on the highway and the n3e meant it was a 98-01 trans with the 4.7FD meaning it has a gsr 4th and 5th gear, which would be better for highway driving.

Edit: Straight from wikipedia:

"S80 spec: J4D (96 Spec: 4.4 final drive), N3E (98 Spec: 4.785 final drive w/ 1.034 4th & .787 5th Gears)"

thats weird cause mine had J4D and my buddys did too, and his was straight from h-motors with paper work and everything confirming it was a 98-01.

the trans i had i got it off a guy who also had paper work confirming it was 98-01 spec itr, i have never seen the 98-01 trans with the N3E stamp,

but that is straight from wikipedia i dont doubt that one bit what so ever, or what your saying about the trans yourself, youve been around in this way longer than i have im sure.

either way its ITR and it a fucking mean ass trans, i thought the 4.4FD trans was better for highway since the FD is shorter in the 98-01 trans

I think it even's out somewhat since the 98+ spec has the longer 4th and 5th gear, i've been trying to read up on it.

Either way someone pick this up so I can purchase my new swap! I'd keep this trans if I could buy a 98+ itr longblock for a decent price. Most places won't separate the two.
