Ford Fiesta ST spotted at the Nürburgring circuit
I've never considered myself to be a small car kind of guy but I’m really looking hard at picking up one of these cars if an ST / SVT version is offered in the US.
I test drove the base model at a dealership last week and it's a zippy little car, I like the steering, it's a huge difference from the F250 I use as my daily driver at the moment.
The rumors are 2600lbs, 180hp, and the twin clutch 6 speed attached to a stick similar to BMW's setup.
Current base models already use a traditional 5 speed or the twin clutch 6 speed.
Compared to the model spotted in the US

first pic looks like they added a silver moustache to the front end. Adding a turbo to any fwd car makes it 10x more fun either way. I like the Fiat 500 Abarth myself. Can't wait till they bring em over here.
Most of the population should go ahead and like these types of cars, like it or not. Unless you're running your f250 on biofuels, big SUV's, trucks and muscle cars will be eliminated in the future due to emmission standards and fossil fuel consumption.

The US has dated bumper laws, even the base model has a different front bumper in the US than the Euro model.
You saw it on the Focus too. The Euro focus had a slim rear bumper, the US model had that large boxy flat thing hanging off it's ass.
I believe it was a similar story with the EVO X and GTR

Not until the laws migrate away from fleet average consumption. Big vehicles will always be around as long as there is a market for them and their emissions are offset by smaller (more fuel efficient) vehicles in the model lineup. This is America, we're going to push automakers into making the HUGE vehicles more efficient, not push them to stop making huge vehicles. Common sense isn't one of our strong points as a culture.
