advice on build up on 98 ls.
i have a 94 ex coupe with a new b18b1 ls with a gsr tranny and i want more power but i want a simple way to achieve it without doing alot of rebuilding. any help on what i could do?

to keep on topic with what to do with an LS...
i have a 99 ls i wanna build as well and avoid turbo.
its got cold air intake and full exhaust and header
should i do intake manifold and throttle body and call it a day or should I go the ls vtec route
what else could I do to it besides that stuff without getting an ecu tune or swapping pistons?

if it was me i'd much rather invest in a small turbo and a small tune for that car versus going vtec
you would notice the power differences substantially

Re: advice on build up on 98 ls.
my problem is it's a daily driver and I had a turbo protege that blew up on me and so turbo isn't really an option for me at this point.
what gains could I expect if I do cold air intake, intake manifold, throttle body, header, exhaust?
what gains could I except from ls/vtec if i get a vtec head and throw it on what i've got with a vtec controller and adjustable cam gears.
Everything is done except for intake mani and throttle body at this point. the two questions above pretty much sum up my options.
also for an ecu tune I have an obd2 since it's a 99... i hear they can't tune those ecu?

Re: advice on build up on 98 ls.
i have a b20 all motor.
11:1 forged pistons
crower 403s cam
crower springs valves retainers
intake manifold
68mm tb
V2 intake
blah blah
To make a long story short You will be disappointed in your build if you do not go vtec or boost. I wish I would have gone vtec (I am currently, just picked up the head from the machine shop this morning). Also the nonvtec heads flow terrible so a good port and polish will help a lot once you get cams and tuned. but in all practicality go boost or vtec. You will be glad, or you'll be regretting all the time and effort spent building a motor that's only making 150whp
