Will there be a 2nd R5 race?
I had wanted to run last years R5, the cannon-ball run type thing they had here in virginia that was advertised on this board back in september it was i think. But it was too last minute and I had just gotten the new bike like that week and didn't want to break it in on a 500 mile road rally, plus my should was still injured at the time. But I was wondering if anyone had any idea of there were plans for a second such race? or if any of you remember the website for that last one, that might have some info on it
the R1 is next. off the top of my head i dont know when it is but its 1000 miles this time and bigger and better and all that jazz. so yes, im just not sure when

damn, 1000 miles might be a bit much on a bike and thats what i'd rather do it on... 500 sounds alot more do-able, but by then I may have a new car anyways, I'm sure the even itself would be a blast, but I just don't know how much fun it would be in a bone stock lowest trim level del sol whose suspension took a crap a year ago

could you give me some specifics of the last race... like what areas of the state did it take you through... any difficulties? and how exactly does it work, i'm guessing you are given a destination to a check point, and at that check point your given the next check point's adress or something?
when you leave the starting line your given your route sheet, it has all the "directions" and crap on it. you follow those all the way till the end. we went up in the mountains alot, through skyine drive and the like, dipped into west VA for a bit than came back through the mountains and ended up in richmond. there were a few checkpoints along the way. the only hard part was the directions, they were vague at points and kinda eh. your best bet is to stick with the pack, thats where all the fun is anyway. mosyt of the directions are based on time so u need a stop watch and miles so u need a working odometer. u mite need to adjust the given time to your speed cuz your probably not going the speedlimit. not really anything "hard". good times
