2004 Team Challenge lets talk
Hey guys I would like to talk about a Team Challenge in '04.
Ok the '03 Team Challenge went bust but I am kicking around the idea of taking up the cause, and try to get it going. I have some changes and I would like to see what you think....
Simple outline for '04
___ 3 person teams driving any class car (this puts more "fast guys" on seperate teams) cars can be shared between drivers; even teams.
___Each team members fastest PAXed times are added together (this hasn't changed)
___The lowest added time will be the first place team for that event. Points will be awarded accordingly 175 for first and decreesing with place, using SCCA points program (this is different than last year.
___The highest point totals of 5 of the 8 ODR events will count as the team total and places will be awarded. (last year it was all 8 events totalls, if we lower the number a team can still form and have a shot to win)
No substitute drivers!!! Once a team is formed those 3 drivers are the only ones who score times. To help make this work better I propose only 1 person needs to be present to score for the team. This can be acheved by a handicap system.

______________The handicap system____
I propose that after a team is formed 1 driver can score as a team. This can be accomplished by a handicap factor, a simple multiple of like 1.05 for the first missing team member and 1.10 for the second. This will be put against the fastest time of the slowest present team team member
EXAMPLE
NAME_______________FASTEST RUN AFTER PAX
Andy_____________________42.789
Michael___________________44.898
Dave (absent)_________44.898 X 1.05=47.14
Team total 134.83
So what do you think????????????????????

I will have a entry form at the registration desk. You will have to sign up before the first car takes the course. Once the first car roles I will pick up the entry forms.
I just think Beno had a good idea with the Team Challenge, but it needed to be refined.
Keep the comments coming!!!
And yes that is my little teal fun run whore.

Here's a thought.. Why just limit it to ODR events? How about saying any 5 events across the 3 clubs in the area?
I'm actually thinking about running a Tidewater Autocross Championship Series across all 3 clubs....
