you dont need the jdm one...if you didnt change anything on your connector to the ecu your stock 2jzge ecu will start the car...just dont rev it or anything as it can mess up your gauge cluster(atleast it will on a is300)

This. Or put up another post asking if anyone will let you yank theirs to try it out. What kind of car is it going into? SC's have the ge non-vtec ecu's until like 2000, is300's have vtec ones. Gs's also have one of the two.

i've got a 240 with a 1jz single turbo swap. the jza70 harness is altered to run off a 2jz ecu..and pretty sure a usdm won't work cause they run of maf while jdm aristo ecu's are map based. So pretty sure it'd have to be a jdm jz-gte ecu to run properly. thanks for the help anyway though

unless your plannin g to drive on it then no it wont work...but if all your doing is testing the ecu cause it wont start on yours then it will be fine as long as you dont drive/rev on it...it will start the car

my ecu will start the car and everything...it's just runnin mad rich. i had a short to ground issue and after i replaced all the damaged wires i can't figure out what's causin it to run rich..i ordered a new o2 yesterday and if that doesn't fix it then it's time for a new ecu..unless having a short to ground could have fried a sensor...who knows.

What's your afr? Is it a slow drop to rich or is it all the time? Do you have data logging capabilities? Also, is the map sensor working?

af's are below 10 all the time...it'll run alright for a few seconds then just goes to 10.0 a/f's. i can rev the car and all (no missing) but when i hold the throttle steady anywhere it'll start breaking up(and the car is just poofin out black smoke). there is no false rev limiter which i've read a lot about when random sensors go bad the car will only rev so far...i revved to maybe 6k or so and it built boost on the rev. pretty sure it's not being caused from a vacuum leak. if i unplug the map nothing changes? i thought i read when testing the signal wire from map at atmospheric pressure it should be around 2.5v, mine reads 3.47v. when it was runnin i was tryin to check voltage and when i'd touch the test lead to ground to read voltage it's like it would take the signal away and the car would shut off...which kinda makes me think it's workin if screwin with the signal changes how the car runs....i've tracked all the wires and all the damaged wires have been replaced...so it's either a bad sensor or ecu...just having trouble finding info on specs for each sensor...sorry for goin on forever but figured i'd throw out some info to keep you from askin questions i've already tried.
