Default why go for after market mounts??

gotta 2000 civic si. few of my motor mounts are about shot on the ride so i figured i will go head and replace all 5 of them same day, just to get it out the way and there all same brand. now im not stock but im not a power house. I do like to take my car to the local track and have some fun with it.

What is the advantage to going aftermarket mounts like hasport, and avid over the stock mounts. Any input would be awesome, thanks alot.

They're firmer, so the engine shifts around less under power. They can sometimes be more consistent on track because of that too... That's pretty much it. They also transmit more vibration and noise to the chassis.

well if i dont have all that much track time would it be worth the step up to the aftermarket. Also would it be wise to change all them at the same time or could i gradually, one at a time, upgrade them?

Whether it's worth it is up to you and what you want to get out of it. If you're going to replace them with something other than a set of used OEM mounts, the money isn't that different.

If you're going to do it, you might as well do them all at the same time.

I do not know much about Mustangs but are those mount solid?

OP, before you mak your decision on the aftermarket mounts you should ride in a car that has them before you make up your mind. I would say that in a DD I would get OEM mounts and be happy.

thats a good idea. i have read a bunch how the vibration is crazy. I was thinking going stock mounts with avid torque mounts for the tranny. guy was saying its a little rough when its cold but once the engine warms up its good and it makes the shift and take offs much more smooth.

really the only things that are bad are the torque mounts, but if im changing those mine as well do them all right, its a cheep fix take a few hours.

Remember that after market mounts like hasports come with different densities of the urethane. Hasport has 4 different densities, and you can buy new urethane or cheap if it wears out.
