Vinyl Interior
Anybody know how to do vinyl interiors?? i wanna do mine myself rather than pay someone a shitload to do it.. i hear of alot of people that do theirs themselves so i didn't think it would be too hard.
contact the back of the vinyl and the thing that you are wrapping. let it tack up until it is almost dry. use a heat gun to heat the vinly so that it stretches and put it on the piece. use a roller kind like what they use to roll dough for a pizza to take care of any wrinkles and then wrap the edges. good luck.
That's the "contact" part. You use contact cement, there are kinds that work well for vinyl, like vinyl top adhesive. Some you can even thin down and spray if you need. Heat is the key, and make sure to get vinyl that can stretch in more than one direction if you are doing complex curves. With the right vinyl, you can wrap something like a basketball with only one seam.
seriously though, as long as you put the contact on both pieces that you are putting together and let them tack up, there isant anything stronger than that. that shit is crazy strong. make sure that pieces are cleaned thoroughly before applying the contact.
