while the head is in the machine shop i got bored and decided to paint my valve cover. 2 coats primer 2 coats red high temp engine paint. question though, ive seen people get the DOHC VTEC to come through. do you just lightly sand it back down or what?

 

You can sand that and risk sanding some of the part you don't want also. Or you can put a coat of vasilene over the letters and with each coat wipe it off and put a new coat on each time taht is the best method i have found when doing my valve covers.

If you have to sand it you should use a block sander or a mouse if you ahve one.

 

just lightly sand it with a block sander and it will come out good
